This past August I volunteered at an elementary school in La Estrella, a village in the mountains of Costa Rica, in a ongoing project to promote literacy and continuing education. I helped to establish a library and taught English to supplement the school's WorldTeach foreign language program.

"WeServe" in The Gambia

I spent 6 weeks at the Sulayaman Junkung General Hospital in Bwiam, Gambia. I worked as a clinical engineer. My job responsibilities included: making an assessment of all medical equipment in the hospital, restoring and installing medical equipment and conducting training sessions for the local staff on how to handle, service and calibrate equipment.
